Where the vineyard stands: 3,500 vines

A quick snapshot of where things stand.

The vineyard currently covers about 3.5 acres with roughly 3,500 vines, planted over multiple seasons rather than all at once. That staggered approach was deliberate: each planting taught us something about spacing, trellising, irrigation, and which varieties handle this site — and the next planting got the benefit.

We grow eight varieties — four whites (Sauvignon Blanc, Albariño, Grüner Veltliner, Gewürztraminer) and four reds (Pinot Noir, Petit Verdot, Chambourcin, Regent). Some are proven performers in warm, dry climates; some are deliberate experiments. The vines vote every season, and we count the ballots.

There's also lavender on the property, and room set aside for the vineyard to expand as the operation grows. As rows mature we're steadily working toward more mechanization — the goal is a vineyard that a small crew can farm well.
